The Schalke coach was delighted with the attacking midfielder's impact following his stunning winning goal against Basel
The German international silenced St Jakob-Park 10 minutes into the second half when he spectacularly volleyed home a half-cleared corner from the edge of the box and Keller had nothing but positive words for the precocious youngster.
"Julian has great qualities and only he could score a goal like that," the 42-year-old told reporters.
"We fought throughout the entire game, so we can be satisfied with the performance."
Draxler himself, meanwhile, remained humble after his superb goal.
"The ball came to me from the corner, I tried it and luckily enough it went into the top corner," said the Germany starlet.
The win means Schalke have won both of their two opening Group E fixtures to leave them top of the table with six points, three ahead of both Basel and Chelsea.
They face Jose Mourinho's side at Veltins-Arena on 22 October before playing the return clash at Stamford Bridge two weeks later.
