thumbnail Hello,

The Germany international has warned there are other members of Fatih Terim's side that los Blancos need to keep quiet if they are to progress to the Champions League semi-finals

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has warned his side not to focus solely on Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba when they face Galatasaray on Wednesday.

Drogba and Sneijder, who signed for the Super Lig champions in January, have stolen much of the pre-match focus as they prepare to face their former coach Jose Mourinho.

But Germany international Khedira believes los Blancos must be wary of the overall strength of Fatih Terim's side if they are to progress to the semi-finals.

"Those two players [Drogba and Sneijder] have brought a new quality to the team, but they have other great players," he told the Uefa Champions League Magazine.

"
For example [Hamit] Altintop, who I know, and who scored in their last match [against Schalke]. It is always difficult to play against Turkish teams, so we must focus on the whole team and take it seriously, not just focus on Drogba or Snejider.

"
If we do, I'm sure we'll get to the semi-finals.
"

Madrid knocked out Manchester United in the previous round following a controversial red card for Nani in the second leg, and Khedira has stressed the importance of maintaining performance levels whilst taking advantage of any stroke of luck which comes your way in the competition.

"It is partly true [luck is important]. You have to be very consistent in your game and offer the best performance of the season on a given day," he went on.

"
In the league you can afford a mistake, but in the Champions League you need to be well prepared for every match.

"Maybe you can talk about luck of the draw, but that isn't very important because in the quarter-finals and semi-finals
there are only the best teams."

Jose Mourinho's side have been in good form of late after a slow start to the season, and Khedira feels the improvement is down to the team all pulling in the same direction.

He added: "Since the new year we have started playing more together again as a team. We are pursuing the same goal and we are focussed on our game.

"
We know what our goals are, we cannot win the league, but we have the cup final in sight and we are in the Champions League quarter-finals.

"I think if we show again what we can do as a team we will be very hard to beat."
