Dortmund against Shakhtar will determine Champions League finalist, claims Lucescu

The Romanian coach believes either his or Jurgen Klopp's men will go all the way in the European competition

Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu has claimed one of the teams from Tuesday's Champions League second-leg tie which features his side and Borussia Dortmund will be a finalist.

The first leg encounter at the Donbass Arena ended in a 2-2 draw, and the display of the Bundesliga title holders in that match has left an impression on the experienced trainer.

"Dortmund are strong and have shown they can open teams up with relative ease," the 67-year-old told reporters at the pre-game press conference.

"Jurgen Klopp is a world-class coach and we expect to come under a lot of pressure. It will not be easy by any means.

"I predict the team that wins will make it to the Champions League final."

Meanwhile, the club's captain Darijo Srna believes his side have learned from their mistakes of the first leg Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund and says they will capitalise on their opponents' mistakes.

The Croatia skipper had scored the opener for Donetsk in the first leg of the game in February, and he insists his team-mates are well-prepared for the return leg on Tuesday.

He added: "We have worked on avoiding our mistakes. We are prepared to capitalise on their [Dortmund's] weaknesses."
