The Bavarians defeated Mauricio Pellegrino's men 2-1 on matchday one of this season's Champions League, but the versatile Spaniard is adamant that they will have a harder time in his homeland.
"It is a difficult ground for a visiting team," the 24-year-old explained to the club's official website.
"The home fans support their team strongly, it is a compact stadium. I like it a lot, I enjoy playing there."
The hosts are undefeated at Mestalla so far this term, but Martinez has set sights on breaking their unbeaten run.
"I played the [2009] Copa del Rey final there with Athletic Bilbao. I am looking forward to it and of course hope they get dealt the first home defeat [of this season]."
The Spain international went on to praise Che forward Roberto Soldado and singled him out as the opposition's main threat.
"He is a very agile striker, who moves well and can score a goal any time. He scored a lot of goals already. I think that he is the soul of Valencia," Martinez concluded.
Kick-off at Mestalla is scheduled at 20.45CET.
