Marchisio: Two more finals await Juventus
The Italy international has underlined the importance of his side's remaining group games after the Chelsea - Shakhtar match did not go their way
Claudio Marchisio feels that Juventus can still qualify for the knock-out stages of the Champions League following Wednesday's Group E results, but realises that they cannot afford to drop points in their last two games against Chelsea and Shakhtar Donetsk. The Bianconeri beat Nordsjaelland 4-0 in Turin, but saw Chelsea record a 3-2 win over Shakhtar, keeping the Old Lady in third place.
"We still have the chance to qualify and we must focus on the next game against Chelsea now. It will be another final for us," Marchisio told Uefa.com.
"A draw tonight [Wednesday] would have meant elimination for us, so we have to prepare for two more finals against Chelsea and Shakhtar.
"The game against Nordsjaelland was already a final for us – we had to win or our dream of qualifying for the next stage would have vanished.
"Fortunately, we managed to score an early goal so the game was completely different to the one in Denmark. It is a pity we dropped two points against them two weeks ago otherwise we would have been first in the group now."
Juventus resume Serie A action on Saturday when they take on Pescara.
