Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has rewarded Edin Dzeko for his match winning brace against West Brom at the weekend by handing him a starting berth for their crucial Champions League match against Ajax.

Dzeko netted both goals in City’s dramatic 2-1 against the Baggies and starts upfront alongside fellow recalled front man Sergio Aguero.

James Milner will be hoping to impress Mancini after his first-half red card at the weekend meant City had to play much of the match with 10 men.

City are desperate for three points after a 3-2 loss away to Real Madrid and a last-gasp 1-1 draw at home to Borussia Dortmund left them with just one point from their opening two games.
