Real Madrid's Marcelo unworried about prospect of meeting Barcelona in Champions League

The Brazilian full-back declared that Madrid must beat any team that they are drawn against and insisted that the result was the most important thing in the match against CSKA
Real Madrid defender Marcelo is not worried that his side may be pitted against Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Spanish capital club have progressed to the last-eight stage with 5-2 aggregate victory against CSKA Moscow following Wednesday's 4-1 success at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Last season, Madrid were denied the chance to reach the Champions League decider after losing to Barcelona 3-1 on aggregate in the semi finals, but Marcelo is not worried that the same thing could happen this term.

"We do not prefer to be drawn against anyone [in particular]," Marcelo told reporters. "Every opponent we can get is the same.

"We just have to beat whoever we get. It does not matter if we face Barca now. We will have to play as equals to try to beat them."

The Brazilian left-back then played down the fact that the Bernabeu faithful was not entirely happy with the team's display against CSKA.

"The fans wanted us to play somewhat better, but the important thing about these matches is to win," Marcelo said.

"Jose Mourinho is a winning coach and he asked us to be more focused."
