Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger rests Robin van Persie & Theo Walcott for Champions League clash with Olympiakos

The Gunners boss has also opted to rest Szczesny, Gervinho and Koscielny for the trip to Greece, although Thomas Vermaelen and Andrey Arshavin are included in the squad

Arsene Wenger has opted to rest a number of big-name players for Arsenal's final Champions League group stage game against Olympiakos on Tuesday.

Having already qualified for the latter-stages of the competition, Wenger has chosen to leave out senior players such as Robin van Persie, Wojciech Szczesny, Laurent Koscielny, Theo Walcott and Gervinho for the trip to Greece.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who played in last week's 1-0 League Cup defeat to Manchester City is likely to feature, whilst summer signing Park Chu-Young and out-of-favour striker Marouane Chamakh are also included in the squad.

Wenger has picked a few experienced players with Yossi Benayoun, Andrey Arshavin, Thomas Vermaelen and Tomas Rosicky, who is returning from a thigh injury, all available for selection.
