Villa admits the Blaugrana were not at their best in Russia tonight...

Barcelona forward David Villa admitted that the Spanish champions found it hard to get past the Rubin Kazan defence in their 1-1 draw in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Blaugrana had to come from behind to salvage a draw, with Villa netting the equaliser from the penalty spot on the hour mark. Speaking after the match the Spain international admitted that they found the Rubin backline a tough nut to crack.

"We found it difficult throughout the game because Rubin Kazan are a team that defended very well and get a lot of people at the back," said the World Cup winner, according to la Vanguardia. "We struggled a lot, like hitting the crossbar.

"However, in the end we found the penalty and we were able to gain a point. That is really important."

Barcelona now have four points from two games in Group D.
