Valencia midfielder Hedwiges Maduro believes that the club are more than capable of qualifying from their Champions League group, and is sure that the team can win all of their matches at the Mestalla.

Los Che were paired with Manchester United, Rangers and Bursaspor in last Thursday’s draw as the Primera Division side make a welcome return to European football’s top table.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Goal.com, Maduro was of the opinion that Valencia should be looking forward at a safe passage into the knockout stages, and also admitted he still follows the progress of former club Ajax.

He stated: “We are in a nice group. All home games, we should win easily. Each team will find it difficult in the Mestalla.

“Ajax I still follow, I’ve seen their draw, and it’s great for them. They will be playing in full stadiums against great opponents. They will learn a lot.”

Maduro has been utilised in a central defensive role on occasion by coach Unai Emery, and when asked what his favourite position is, he laughed: “At Valencia they call me the joker! When we play against tougher opponents, I am more of a defensive midfielder, but against lesser teams at home then I am often used in defence.”
