Valencia Coach Unai Emery Satisfied By Champions League Draw
Los Che travel to Turkey in the opener...
By Paul Madden
Valencia coach Unai Emery has declared himself "satisfied" with his sides UEFA Champions League group after returning to Europe's top tier competition for the first time since 2007-08.
Los Che have been drawn against Premier League kingpins Manchester United, Rangers and Turkish side Bursaspor and Emery believes it is an attractive group. Valencia will begin their campaign away to Bursaspor on Spetember 19 with their first home tie at the Mestalla against United on September 29.
"We accept what the draw has given us and also we know that for the fans it will be very nice to see Manchester United at the Mestalla and for those who can travel it will be special to experience matches at stadia like that of Rangers and Manchester United," he was quoted as saying by AS.
"Another who is also a good team historically, both in Europe and at home, is Glasgow Rangers. The third team is a stranger to us, the Turkish side Bursaspor, but we must respect because last season they won a prestigious league in which teams compete well.
"Manchester is one of the best teams in the tournament, a recent winner and one of the favourites again. They have many names but we cannot rule out the other two teams. I respect them very much because if you are among the top 32 Europe there's a reason for that. It's a strong and attractive group, we're satisfied."
