Barcelona Sporting Director Txiki Begiristain Hopes To Avoid Manchester United
Txiki hopes Barca don't draw Red Devils...
By Rupert Fryer
Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain has admitted he is hoping his club avoid Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
“Right now, all the rivals are very strong but I prefer to avoid Manchester United,” he told Marca.
The former Spanish international went on to say that he was not afraid of any of the teams Barca may draw and that he had been impressed with Lyon after they knocked Real Madrid out of the competition.
"I'm not afraid to face teams like Arsenal and Manchester United as they would be great events. The French have been playing very well and Lyon have great experience,” he added.
Finally, Txiki concluded by saying what he was really hoping for was to play the second leg of their next quarter-final at Camp Nou.
Ideally, I’d like the second-leg of the round at our stadium. Last year we were unlucky and had to play them in Munich and London."
