Porto's Helton 'Very Sad' After Champions League Elimination
The Brazilian goalkeeper was extremely disappointed with his side's loss against Arsenal...
By Stefan Coerts
Porto travelled to London to defend a narrow 2-1 lead from the first leg against Arsenal, but the Portuguese side's plans were dealt a huge blow after only 10 minutes of play, when Nicklas Bendtner gave Arsenal an early lead on the way to a hat-trick in the Gunners' 5-0 win.
"We tried to react after the opener and keep our shape, as we did after conceding a goal in the first leg, but unfortunately we weren't able to," Porto keeper Helton said to uefa.com. "To lose a game like this, in the manner we did, isn't easy to accept.
"After the collision with Fucile that led to the opener I don't know what went on. Of course the ball ended up in the back of the net, but I didn't see anything happening to be honest.
"It's very kind for people to say that I played a good game, but I don't do the work that I do thinking only of myself. Unfortunately we went out in the way we did, and I can only feel very sad."
