The stopper was one of the Nerazzurri's best, shutting down the English side's attacking options...
The Brazilian was pleased to have been able to help his side when they needed it most, keeping the Blues' attacking options quiet.
"I am very happy that I helped my side when they needed it most," the stopper stated to Inter.it post-match. "Chelsea are a world-class side with lots of great players, but I think that Inter played better.
"I received the odd knock, but I will be receovered and fully-fit by the time the return leg is played. "
Lucio was also emotional about the chants the Nerazzurri fans were directing at him.
"Those chants are a sign that made me happy. But my focus is still on the pitch. I am pleased that the fans think of me in this way - which is always important - but I am happy that the team got the victory," he concluded.
The return leg will be played on March 16 at Stamford Bridge.
