Inter defender Ivan Cordoba is excited by the Champions League draw, pitting he and his team-mates against Chelsea in the first knockout stage.

The Blues are considered one of the favourites to take home Europe's top prize, but the veteran insists the Italian outfit is up to the challenge of taking on coach Carlo Ancelotti's men.

"When you win important trophies you must overcome the best opponents," he mused to inter.it.

"Tackling the big sides gives you an extra boost. Inter will be ready for this challenge in the right way, and will try to get as far as possible in the competition, maybe all the way to the end."

Inter's run last year came to an end in the Round of 16, as they were defeated 2-0 on aggregate by Manchester United.
