Diego wasn't able to help his side qualify for the last 16 in the Champions League...

Juventus playmaker Diego is bitterly disappointed that he could not do more to help his side qualify for the next phase of the Champions League, as the Bianconeri crashed out of the tournament after a 4-1 loss to Bayern Munich.

The crowd whistled the Brazilian off the ground when he was being substituted, and accepts that the fans were angry towards him for not producing the goods.

"The Champions League was one of our clear objectives of the club," Diego was quoted as saying to Corriere Dello Sport. "We lacked personality, and Bayern Munich were superior to us, and that is why they won.

"We are not finished in Europe, as it occurred to other teams such as Liverpool. We must now focus on winning the Europa League.

"The whistles directed towards me? I accept them and I know that I can give more. They are right to do so, and they didn't hurt or offend me.

"It is normal that the fans react this way, and I am the first to say that we must do better.

"Therefore, we need to train harder to get even better," affirmed Diego.
