Juventus Coach Ciro Ferrara Offers No Excuses For Champions League Exit
The coach was visibly upset, but took his hat off to Bayern...
Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara was struggling for words after his side were humiliated 4-1 by Bayern Munich and crashed out of the Champions League.
David Trezeguet had offered a source of hope when he pounced on 19 minutes. However, Hans-Jorg Butt converted a penalty, before Ivica Olic, Mario Gomez and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk completed a fine German comeback.
"I am very disappointed for the club, team and fans. Going out of the Champions League hurts," Ferrara told Sky Sport Italia.
"We got zero points in our last two games. We are not able to manage a situation, we were not able to to anything."
Ferrara did not lambast the team and he was keen to stress Bayern fully deserved to go through. The coach was in no mood to draw a picture of excuses.
"Bayern were superior to us on every level. We created very little.
"It's difficult to say what went wrong. We cannot find excuses. This is a competition where you need to be motivated."
