Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra has insisted that Los Blancos have what it takes to defeat Marseille at the Stade Velodrome and finish top of UEFA Champions League Group C.

The France international says he expects the Ligue 1 side to be very motivated for the game but declared that his team have nothing to fear going into the game.

Any result, barring a defeat heavier than three goals, will see Los Merengues progress to the knockout stages but they must win to ensure they finish top of the group.

"They will be very motivated, but that is no reason for us to fear them. We have great quality in our squad and we got the better of them in the first leg [3-0 at the Bernabeu]," he told a press conference.

Diarra also suggested that Madrid have made progress since the start of the season despite still being a developing team.

"We have made many signings, we are a team that continues under construction, but it is clear that there has been progress," he noted.
