Unirea Urziceni Defender George Galamaz Idolises Juventus Stalwart Fabio Cannavaro
The Romanian international, who hopes to compete in the last 16 of Europe's elite club competition, has great respect for the Azzurri captain...
Unirea Urziceni are on the verge of making history for their club in the Champions League, as they aim to make it to the knock-out stage when they face Stuttgart on Matchday 6.
The minnows were expected to be pushovers, but have impressed in Group G, only needing a draw in their final match to advance to the the round of 16. Defender George Galamez believes they are capable of progressing.
"Our dream is to win in Stuttgart - playing for a draw could mean we suffer a defeat. I repeat the we do not fear anybody," he said during an organised chat with users on uefa.com.
"We're not under any pressure. We beat Sevilla and Rangers, who says can't we get a point in Germany? We respect Stuttgart, but don't feel inferior."
Asked about his favourite player, the 28-year-old says he aspires to play like Juventus centre-back Fabio Cannavaro.
"[Cannavaro is] a winner of the Ballon d'Or. He has an extraordinary sense of anticipation and is one of the most intelligent defenders in the world, despite his age," the former Dinamo Bucharest man explained.
Galamez earned his first cap for Romania earlier this year.
