Juventus Defender Nicola Legrottaglie Thinks Positive After Bordeaux Debacle
The centre-back insists Juve will learn from their mistakes and get the job done against Bayern Munich...
Serie A giants Juventus suffered their first defeat of their Champions League campaign last night when French champions Bordeaux prevailed 2-0 at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
The Bianconeri were undone by two defensive lapses on set-pieces and will now need to avoid defeat at home to German outfit Bayern Munich next month to progress to the knock-out stage of the competition.
“It’s a shame because we conceded the first goal during our best moment,” a disappointed Nicola Legrottaglie told the club’s website after the encounter.
“Set-pieces are getting more and more vital in football. Bordeaux have this quality and made the most of it.
“We’re sorry, particularly because we didn’t play as Juve know how, but we already know where we went wrong.
“We will put aside this defeat with the same balance we use after victories and we confidently look forward to our next game with Bayern.”
With Bordeaux already assured of top spot in Group A, only a victory in Turin on December 8 would allow the Bavarians, who sit one point behind Juve, to book their place in the last 16.
