Result Against Real Madrid Is Acceptable - FC Zurich Coach Challandes

The Swiss coach says Madrid are the strongest team in Europe...

Bernard Challandes, Manager of FC Zurich (firo)
FC Zurich coach Bernard Challandes has declared that the 1-0 UEFA Champions League defeat to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu was an "acceptable" outcome for his team.

Gonzalo Higuain got the only goal of the game as the Swiss side battled hared to keep the superior Los Merengues at bay for most of the game.

"Realistically, the result is acceptable to us, Real Madrid is a very strong team, one of the best in the Champions League,'' he told a press conference afterwards.

"I'm happy with the defensive work of my team, with the solidarity of the players who worked hard and played with pride. Against the strongest team in Europe is not easy to score a goal, they keep pushing very hard and have quality."

FC Zurich face Milan at home in their final game next month but are already out of contention for a Europa League place.
