Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has slammed his side's performance after their 2-0 defeat at Bordeaux tonight, and says that the Bianconeri and Inter just cannot match the quality of Milan in the Champions League.

Juve produced a dismal showing in losing in France tonight, which followed the horrific display by Inter during their 2-0 loss in Barcelona yesterday evening.

“It’s not a tactical issue, it’s more one of mentality and the fact there is a big difference between playing in Italy and in Europe,” Buffon complained.

“In Italy you need physical strength and a bit of quality, but in Europe everyone is very organised and you risk some costly slip-ups.

“We saw with Inter that if you don’t have a truly strong organised system, you won’t be able to dominate teams on your travels.

“The only Italian side who can do [it in Europe] are Milan and that’s why they traditionally do so well in this competition.”

Juventus could have qualified tonight, but they must now avoid defeat at home to Bayern Munich in their final group clash to make it to the next round.
