Player Ratings: AZ Alkmaar 0-0 Olympiacos
It was a dull affair tonight in Holland as both sides failed to find the target on numerous occasions. Goal.com rates the individual participants...
AZ ALKMAAR
Romero: 5 - Flapped a few times at set pieces. Didn't have much to do otherwise.
Pocognoli: 6.5 - Did well in his defensive duties and looked to find his forwards a few times with well placed long-balls.
Moreno: 6 - Kept Mitroglou quiet, but earned himself a yellow card at the end for pulling the Greek striker to the ground.
Moisander: 7 - Swept up wonderfully all match. A good shift from the Finnish centre-back.
Swerts: 6.5 - Popped up a few times to offer options down the right. Never neglected his defensive duties.
Schaars: 6 - Offered support when needed, but never really got himself in the game enough.
Holman: 6.5 - Should have received a higher mark through almost scoring and producing some great play, however, the Aussie midfielder lost possession a good few times.
Lens: 7 - An absolute workhorse all game. Kept AZ ticking over throughout, but suffered badly after failing to find the target numerous times.
Mendes Da Silva: 6.5 - Offered some options on the right and had a decent crack at goal.
Wernbloom: 5.5 - Silent for long spells, the Swedish hitman came close to scoring, but very obviously dived near the end of the match in hopes of getting a penalty.
Dembele: 7 - Much like Lens, but with faster feet. The only thing this player is lacking is composure - so many wondrous build-ups started and ended with Dembele, but he could never find the target. Shot far too many times without scoring.
Subs
Pelle: 5 - A poor performance for the time he was allowed. Koeman really should have left Dembele on.
Ari: 5 - Much the same as Pelle, the coach would have done better to leave Holman on the pitch.
Martens: N/A
OLYMPIACOS
Nikopolidis: 5 - Better finishing could have made a fool out of the veteran 'keeper. Got flustered a good few times the AZ attack ran at him.
Bravo: 7 - Very solid in defence, the former Real Madrid full-back waited until late in the game to contribute in an attacking sense.
Mellberg: 6 - Was there with a good few last ditch tackles, but some stray passing could have worked out badly for the Swede.
Zewlakow: 7 - Is there nothing this Pole can't do? Solid as a full-back, solid as a defensive midfielder, and now solid in the centre of defence. Outshone Mellberg at the heart of defence.
Galitsios: 6 - Did a lot of running early in the match, but faded out as the game wore on.
Maresca: 5 - Failed to impose himself on the game enough for Olympiacos to build anything sound from the left of midfield.
Leonardo: 5 - Very sloppy in passing, the Brazilian lacked the flair that his countrymen boast so well. Had one decent shot on goal.
Zairi: 7.5 - By far Olympiacos' best player. It was almost a shame to watch Zairi trying so hard as the men around him looked wholly uninspired.
Dudu: 5 - Also silent for long spells, Dudu popped up near the end and let fly. No dice though for the Brazilian.
Gonzalez: 6 - Looked dangerous a few times when trying to link with those around him. Again though, couldn't find a killer final ball.
K Mitroglou: 5 - Marked out of sight for most of the game, Mitroglou was not allowed an inch of space to increase his impressive tally so far this season.
