Arrigo Sacchi Shows Fiorentina The Way To Overcome Olympique Lyonnais
The tactician has urged the Gigliati to be faultless at the back and keep a high tempo to dispatch the French giants...
Fiorentina welcome French side Olympique Lyonnais to the Stadio Franchi on Tuesday night for a crunch Champions League Group F tie.
The Italian side know that a win would book their place in the last 16 of the competition for the first time in ten years, and former Italy and Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi claims to know the key to success.
“Fiorentina can’t afford to get dejected after being defeated by an organised and determined Parma last Saturday,” Sacchi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“This match against Lyon is historical. Cesare Prandelli’s men play good football, but commit too many individual mistakes in defence.
“Besides, these are not yet compensated by a collective organisation that boost everyone’s confidence.
“It will be important they improve their attention span and their pressing against the French outfit.
“On the other hand, it’s also vital that the good [Alberto] Gilardino is not left on his own up front.”
