Sergio Busquests Aware Of Importance Of Barcelona's Clash With Inter
The young midfielder knows that only a win will do against the Italians...
Sergio Busquets has claimed that he and his teammates are fully aware of the importance of Barcelona’s Champions League tie with Inter at Camp Nou in midweek.
The Blaugrana are in a precarious position in group F with just two points separating Inter, Rubin Kazan and Dynamo Kiev and a win is required to edge closer to qualification.
Busquets, who broke into the first-team of the Catalan giants in Pep Guardiola’s debut season, has assured the club’s followers that they are aware of the gravity of the situation and that they will be going all out for the win.
Goal.com Spain reports that the 21-year-old said this about the match, “On Tuesday we have a duel with one of the best sides in Europe and there is nothing else for us to do other than win the match.
“We are ready to give 200% to the cause.”
Busquets then turned his attention to the Primera Division, where a Real Madrid victory over Racing Santander sent Los Blancos to the summit as Barcelona only managed a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao at San Mames.
Despite the psychological blow of relinquishing their lead in the title race, Busquets insists that he knows that winning La Liga is a marathon, not a sprint.
He added, “We have a lot of confidence in ourselves and we know that even though we lost our leadership, we also know that La Liga will not be decided until the very end.”
