Dynamo Kyiv Open To Birmingham City Offers For Andriy Shevchenko

The decision to leave Ukraine lies with 'Sheva'...

Champions League : Andriy Shevchenko (Dynamo Kiev)

The resurgence of Andriy Shevchenko following his underwhelming spell at Chelsea was underlined with a stunning goal for Dynamo Kyiv against Inter in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Ukraine international was in hot demand in the summer, with clubs from Spain and Italy interested in the striker's services, and Birmingham City too have been linked with a move.

Dynamo president, Igor Surkis, welcomes offers for Shevchenko, but warned that the decision to sell will also depend on the player's willingness to leave his homeland.

"I haven't received an offer, but for me it's pleasant that Andriy is in demand," Surkis said in the Daily Mail.

"Shevchenko is reborn, becoming as he was before leaving for Milan [in 1999]. His eye for goal and speed will return.

"As for offers? It doesn't just depend on me, but also on Andriy.

"In the summer he made a patriotic decision, rejecting offers from Italy, Spain and Turkey. I don't think he wants anything to change."

Shevchenko has also been linked with a move to Fenerbahce of Turkey.
