Barcelona Duo Gerard Pique & Andres Iniesta Reflect On Rubin Kazan Stalemate
Barca's failure to beat Rubin has once again led to calls for calm...
The Blaugrana duo reflected on the goalless draw that saw the European champions slip to third in Group F and left them needing to raise their game against Dynamo Kiev and Inter in the remaining two matchdays of the Champions League.
While progress is still in their hands, Pique is not concerned that they will be fumbled out of the competition and thinks that playing at home next will be a boost.
“It's still down to us," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
“We deserved a bit more, but a draw isn't all bad. Our next game is at home in front of our fans and they have no reason to worry."
Iniesta was pleased with Barcelona's determination in Kazan as the team continually looked for a winning goal throughout.
“We kept trying till the end, but it just wasn't to be. We missed the most difficult part: scoring," he explained.
“We have to keep going until the end."
