Rubin Kazan Are A Great Team - Barcelona Captain Carles Puyol
The defender said the Blaugrana found it hard to create chances...
The Russian champions have taken four points from the champions in two outings, and Puyol admitted that Rubin have made it very difficult for the Blaugrana.
"We looked for a goal at all times, but the ball did not want to go in. It was very difficult to create chances," he said afterwards according to Marca, before admitting that the Russian side's game plan worked to perfection.
"We knew they would play a very defensive game, with two lines of four players very close together. They have closed down the spaces very well.
"They have a number of players of great quality, and that are very dangerous on the counterattack. They are a great team," he remarked.
Barca must now look to win their two remaining matches, at home against Inter, and away to Dynamo Kiev, in order to secure their place in the knockout phase of the competition.
