We Shouldn't Get Ahead Of Ourselves After Debrecen Triumph - Fiorentina's Vargas
The Viola defender says that team-mates and fans alike must not get too excited just yet...
The Viola defeated Hungarian side Debrecen 5-2 with goals to Adrian Mutu, Dario Dianelli, Riccardo Montolivo, Marco Marchionni and Alberto Gilardino, on match day four of the competition.
"We are happy that we won at home against Debrecen," Vargas told TMW after the game.
"We now need to remain calm and go forward, playing well until the end. Out attention will turn to the league now [as they play Udinese away this weekend].
"In our next Champions League match against Lyon, we well need to be relaxed and play our own style of football, and hopefully, we can do well," Vargas summed up.
Only a solitary point, in theory, is required for the Gigliati to advance to the next round of the prestigious tournament, as third-place Liverpool need to win their next two matches quite convincingly to supersede the Italians.
