Fiorentina’s Thrashing Of Debrecen Proves We Are Stronger Than Last Year – Montolivo
The Italian international feels that his side are on the right track…
Despite being level at the break, a dominant four goal second half by the Viola was enough for them to take home all three points.
“Our first goal came early in the match, and even though we conceded before half time, we wanted to win the match at all costs. We knew that we had to continue playing with the desire to succeed,” the scorer of the third goal for his side, Riccardo Montolivo, explained to Sky.
“We have been playing extremely well lately, particularly since our win over Liverpool, but also as a result of the experience we picked up in last year’s Champions League.
“At the start of the season, I did say that we were a lot stronger than last year, and our performances of late have convinced everyone.”
The Italian international had one final comment to make, in regards to whether or not his introduction at the interval made the difference for his side on the night.
He added, “Did the match change when I came on? The credit must go to the whole team that started the second half with an impressive amount of intensity.”
