Diego Milito Hails The Importance Of Inter’s Victory Over Dynamo Kiev
The Argentine has stressed the significance of the latest result…
Despite going behind midway through the first half to an Andriy Shevchenko strike, the Nerazzurri fought back hard, and were rewarded in the final few minutes of play, as they struck twice through Diego Milito and Wesley Sneijder to steal the three points.
“This is a crucial victory for us, as it was an extremely difficult match,” Milito explained in a post-match interview to Rai.
“Dynamo played really well, but in the second half, we were much better and deserved to win.
“They did score first, but we had so many chances, and luckily we were fortunate enough to score with our last two opportunities.”
The result leaves the Italians in top place of Group F; however with only a one point lead over the second and third placed sides in Barcelona and Rubin Kazan respectively, their progression is not yet assured.
He continued, “We are working hard to get as far away as possible from our rivals, but it’s not easy to do, as we saw tonight.
“The teams in our group, and in the competition, are very strong. We must do well against Barca and Rubin.
“We know they will both be difficult matches, but now let’s just enjoy this win.”
