Jorge Valdano Hails Real Madrid's Brilliant First Half Performance Against Milan
The Argentinian says Los Merengues are still developing as a team...
Karim Benzema put the Spanish side ahead just before the half hour mark, pouncing after Dida spilled a Kaka drive, only for Ronaldinho to restore the parity from the penalty spot six minutes later.
"The first half is the best we've played this season. We had the ball, attacked often, and shot many times. These are the characteristics that should define the team, and we will continue this way," Valdano told AS.
"There are still some inconsistencies but the team is still developing."
Madrid still have some work to do to emerge from the group, but a win at home to FC Zurich should give them safe passage to the knockout stages in the next round of fixtures.
Their attentions now return to the Primera Liga, as they face city rivals Atletico Madrid in their third straight domestic tie against local opposition, this weekend.
