The goalkeeper has hailed Ribery's genial piece of magic that could have won his side the game...
The Champions League showdown between the teams ended 0-0, but it could have been so different.
In the first half, Ribery left Zdenek Grygera and Giorgio Chiellini for dead, skipping past them and into the box. With only Buffon to beat, the Frenchman tried a lob that beat the stopper but ended up on the roof of the net.
The Italian No.1 has reflected on the move, claiming it would have been the best goal this century.
"Ribery did something so good that it was worth the price of entry and a life-long standing ovation from the Allianz Arena," the goalkeeper told the press.
"He wasn't happy at just scoring a goal, he wanted to score the goal of the century. Luckily I am tall and perhaps he made the mistake of putting too much on the ball as it went over."
