Zurich Win In Milan Makes History - Bernard Challandes
He admits his side were lucky at times....
FC Zurich coach Bernard Challandes was delighted after his side managed to secure an 'historic' 1-0 victory over Milan at the San Siro in the UEFA Champions League.
Finnish centre-half Hannu Tihinen put the visitors in front after just nine minutes to stun the Rossoneri and despite dominating Milan failed to break down the Swiss outfit's resolute defending.
"To win in Milan creates a little bit of history for us," Challandes told a press conference after the game.
"We are a small team and we have beaten Milan at home, this is important. It also helps us for the next game as it gives us a chance [to qualify]. We were lucky at times, especially in the second half but you can't take anything away from the team tonight."
The win puts Zurich level on points with Milan, who still have to play leaders Real Madrid twice in the remaining games and leaves the Swiss side with genuine hopes of reaching the knockout phase.
