Barcelona pair Gerard Pique and Andres Iniesta have cited Manchester United's Wayne Rooney as the player who poses the biggest threat to them in the Champions League final on Wednesday.
Pique played alongside the England international for the Red Devils from 2004-2008 and as a result knows exactly what to expect from the forward.
"I have never seen a player as powerful as Rooney - the way he goes past people, the intensity of his play, the runs he makes from the first minute to the last and the shot that he has. World class," Pique is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.
"Perhaps he does not get the credit he deserves because he should score more goals but he offers so much."
Iniesta, meanwhile, stressed the importance of perfection to Barcelona’s cause in Rome. "What I value most about the way United play is
how hard players like Rooney work," he remarked. "We cannot commit any mistakes because they have so much fire-power up front."
"Finals are not usual very tactical. We can plan a million things before the game but in the second minute they can strike and all the plans go out the window."
