Guus Hiddink: Essien Helped Us Overcome Liverpool Challenge
The Chelsea manager outlined the reasons for his side's win at Anfield over Liverpool....
Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink was in a largely modest mood following his side's 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Champions League.
Speaking to Goal.com's Mohammed Bhana, Hiddink said, "To play Liverpool at Anfield is always difficult.
"After they scored we had two chances to score. We felt that we had confidence and we knew we had to go for them.
"But in the next game we don't have John Terry. Yet, we have good replacements."
The Dutchman went on to state that his side's attacking formation was vindicated by the result.
"Our players were brave and we got some benefit from the way we played," he concluded.
