Guti is to make way for Lassana Diarra in the Real Madrid line-up to face Liverpool on Tuesday evening, according to reports.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal man has apparently been chosen ahead of the experienced playmaker to partner Fernando Gago in a double pivot.
We reported that this would be the probable midfield configuration in our Goal.com preview, but the word from the capital is that this now seems almost definite.
Marca reports that coach Juande Ramos has decided to go with this youthful-looking double pivot and thus leave Guti on the bench, while Marcelo should play on the left flank and Arjen Robben on the right.
With Klaas-Jan Huntelaar ineligible and Ruud van Nistelrooy still absent, it is likely that Raul and Gonzalo Higuain will play up front.
