Report: Inter Defender Walter Samuel To Face Manchester United

It appears that Inter’s injury crisis may be starting to ease.

FcInterNews.it claims that Jose Mourinho will be able to call on Argentine central defender Walter Samuel for the return leg of their Champions League last 16 tie with Manchester United.

The 30-year-old stopper pulled up with a left calf problem during the warm-up of the away match with Bologna on February 21 and his absence saw the Nerazzurri ship six goals in their next two games .

Now, it is suggested, Samuel has almost recovered from the problem and there are high hopes he will be in the starting XI at Old Trafford, alongside that other immovable South American object, Colombian Ivan Cordoba.

Marco Materazzi and Nicolas Burdisso, however, are definitely out of the Old Trafford game after both picking up thigh strains in Saturday's two-nil victory against Genoa. There are also rumours that Patrick Vieira could be picked in midfield, ahead of the out-of-form Sulley Muntari.
