As Lyon intensify preparations for their visit to the Camp Nou to take on Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 this Wednesday, their star midfielder, Juninho has re-asserted that the Spanish heavyweights are favourites to progress to the quarter-finals.
The Brazilian free-kick maestro also wisely pushed all the pressure to their opponents by calling them the best club in the competition at present, despite their recent shaky form.
“We played very well at home [in the first leg] but we gave them an away goal,” he was quoted as saying by Sport.
The 34-year-old didn’t sell his own team short, though, but he lamented the club’s failure to win the Champions League despite their utter dominance in Ligue 1.
Finally, Juninho admitted that this could be his last season with Les Gones: “I turned 34 in January and at this age, you do not have too many plans for the future.
“This season has gone very well for me. I have a contract until 2010, but I do not know if I will continue playing here next season.
“For now, my immediate target is to score the three goals I need to reach the 100 goal mark with
