Bayern Munich ran out convincing winners over a lacklustre Steaua Bucharest, with their strike force of Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni sharing three goals. Goal.com rates the performers.

Champions League: Bayern Munich - Steaua Bucarest (firo)
Bayern Munich:

Rensing 6.5
Had very little to do, got behind the shots he needed to.

Oddo 7.0
Solid in defence, got forward to support his attackers throughout and provoked the opener with one of a number of great crosses.

Lahm 7.5
Scarcely put a foot wrong at either end of the pitch. A nautral footballer, comfortable in possession and thrives on responsibility.

Lucio 6.5
Was consistent in his duties, but faced a limited attack.

van Buyten 6.5
Won his challenges, shored the backline well, but did not have much to do.

Ze Roberto 7.5
Used all his experience to pick the right pass more often than not. Still an efficient customer despite his advancing years.

van Bommel 7.0
Has had his fair share of criticism this season but will be pleased with a measured performance. Passed well and was a sturdy prospect throughout.

Ribery 8.5
Tremendous display from the Frenchman. Was a constant threat and provided his strikers with an ample amount of ammunition.

Schweinsteiger 6.0
A subdued showing from the Real Madrid target. Was not as prominent as Ribery on the left or Oddo behind him, and only flickered.

Klose 9.0
Superb. Scored two, made one and laid on what should have been a hat-trick for Toni. Man of the match by a country mile.

Toni 7.0
Scored, eventually. Makes the right runs, but looks like he has his boots on the wrong feet at times.

Subs:

Borowski n/a
Only a leg-stretcher, but suffered a hefty challenge.

Breno n/a
The stocky youngster will gave enjoyed the run-out.

Steaua Bucharest:

Zapata 6.5
Kept the Bavarians at bay in the first half, but eventually succumbed. Jittery at times.

Golanski 5.0
Given the runaround by Ribery and Lahm and was booked for venting his frustration on Borowski's shin.

Marin 5.5
Kept Schweinsteiger under wraps, but saw Oddo lay on the first goal from his jurisdiction.

Ghionea 5.0
Had a torrid time facing Klose; the German international's repertoire tested the defender every time, and he had little or no answer.

Goian 6.0
The best of the Steaua backline, but was still on a team that shipped three. Blocked well at times and competed manfully against the robust Toni.

Rodoi 6.5
Occasionally showed the form that has aroused the interest of Internazionale in the first half, but was eventually overrun. To his credit, most of the German side's play came from the flanks and not his area of influence.

Petre 5.5
Never got to grips with van Bommel's passing or Ze Roberto's effervescence. The game passed him by.

Nicolita 5.0
Tried to influence the game in the final third with forward runs, but had little support from his colleagues.

Moreno 7.0
Steaua's best player; the Colombian provoked the majority of the visitors' intermittent attacking play with deft touches, powerful running and an eye for goal. Seems set for one of Europe's brighter lights.

Szekely 5.0
Failed to influence the game in an attacking sense and saw a lot of raiding done on his flank by Oddo.

Stancu 6.0
A thankless task ploughing the lonely furrow, but tried his best to involve his team-mates. Had one or two half chances.

Subs:

Semedo 6.0
A positive addition; the youngster threatened to ruffle a few feathers but ultimately lacked any punch.

Lovin n/a

Gomes n/a
