Audi Cup 2011 preview: Internacional - AC Milan

After penalties defeats for both sides in the semi-finals, it's a quick turnaround for much changed outfits in Wednesday's curtain-raiser

Internacional (4-3-1-2)
Renan; Ze Mario, Fabricio, Rodrigo, Kleber; Ricardo Goulart, Glaydson, Wilson Matias; Joao Paulo; Gilberto, Lucas Roggia

Internacional are likely to make changes after putting in a concerted effort against Barcelona, but could still find more minutes for the likes of Andres D'Alessandro and Leandro Damiao during the second half.

AC Milan (4-3-1-2): Roma; Zambrotta, Thiago Silva, Yepes, Antonini; Seedorf, Ambrosini, Valoti; Robinho; Pato, Paloschi

Massimiliano Allegri has a full squad available, and having spelled many of his first team squad for little over 60 minutes in the semi-final against Bayern Munich, he could give second run-outs to a number of players. The likes of Seedorf, Zambrotta, Thiago Silva, Robinho and Pato could be given starts after seeing little or no playing time on Tuesday.

  • Internacional missed out on the final when going down 4-2 on penalties after equalising twice against Barcelona in Tuesday's opening semi-final.
  • The Brazilians are back in league action on Sunday when they return home to Atletico Goianiense in Porto Alegre. They currently sit in sixth position in the standings.
  • Internacional have twice won the Copa Libertadores, in 2006 and 2010.
  • Milan have already played one third-place fixture at the Audi Cup, losing on penalties to Boca Juniors in the 2009 version after a 4-1 defeat to Bayern Munich.
  • Massimiliano Allegri's side return to competitive action on Saturday week when they travel to Beijing for the Supercoppa Italiana clash with local rivals Inter.
  • The seven-time European champions are now nearing full strength after seeing their a number of players return to training following their participation in the recent Copa America.
Internacional (4-3-1-2)
Renan; Nei, Bolivar, Rodrigo, Kleber; Mario Bolatti, Pablo Guinazu, Andrezinho; Andres D'Alessandro; Ze Roberto, Leandro Damiao.

Internacional are likely to see this clash as a much more prestigious affair and should select a strong side for the game against Barcelona, including former Argentine international midfielder Andres D'Alessandro and Tottenham target Leandro Damiao.
