Conquering Italy

Milan might be out of the Champions League but they are very much in with a chance of winning the Scudetto this campaign. At the moment the Rossoneri are second in Serie A with 58 points from 28 matches and are just a single point behind defending Italian champions and current leaders Inter.

Leonardo's side have surprised most, if not all, with their great run of results in the Italian top flight and although it is obvious that Inter themselves are to blame for throwing away a massive 11-point lead at the top of the table, Milan's persistence and hunger cannot be undermined.

However, the Rossoneri were not very convincingly in their narrow 1-0 win against Chievo last weekend. Although Sunday's visitors Napoli themselves have been struggling of late, Milan should be aware of the quality that the Neapolitans possess.

Running Low And Dry

At one point under coach Walter Mazarri, Napoli were among the top four but they are on a horrendous winless run at the moment. The last time the Neapolitans won a competitive fixture was on January 24 when they defeated Livorno 2-0 away from home. Since then the Azzurri have drawn four of their seven matches and have lost the remaining three.

Last weekend Napoli lost their first match at home in the league as they went down 3-1 to Fiorentina. That defeat dragged them to eighth place in Seria A, three points off a Europa League spot.

Napoli have not looked very confident on their travels and winning in Milan against the Rossoneri will be difficult for them.

TEAM NEWS

Milan

Beckham, Onyewu, Nesta and Bonera are out with injuries.

Probable Lineup (4-2-1-3): Abbiati, Abate, Thiago Silva, Favalli, Zambrotta; Pirlo, Ambrosini; Seedorf; Pato, Inzaghi, Ronaldinho

Napoli

Grava, Santacroce, Dossena, Hoffer and Aronica are out while Pazienza is struggling for match fitness.

Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): De Sanctis, Campagnaro, Cannavaro, Rinaudo; Maggio, Gargano, Pazienza, Zuniga; Lavezzi, Hamsik; Quagliarella

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Clarence Seedorf (Milan)

The Dutch veteran scored a late winner against Chievo last weekend and although he is past his prime, Seedorf still holds importance for Milan. The former Real Madrid midfielder will start against Napoli on Sunday and he will be keen to etch his name on the scoresheet once again.

Marek Hamsik (Napoli)

The Slovakian international midfielder scored against Roma recently to salvage a point. Hamsik has looked great this season but only intermittently and has not been very consistent either. However, the Milan backline should be wary of Hamsik's quality and without Alessandro Nesta may struggle.

PREDICTION

Milan are strong at home while Napoli have looked erratic of late. The Neapolitans do have quality in their side but the Rossoneri are on a high and will get all three points.

Milan 2-0 Napoli
