Kick-Off: Sunday, March 21, 2010, 15:00 CET.
Stadio Artemio Franchi, Siena.

Steadily Improving

Last weekend Siena demonstrated their fighting spirit and team unity as they came from 3-0 down to hold Juventus to a 3-3 draw in Serie A in Turin. It was a point gained for the Sicilians, who, though, still remain at the bottom of the table.

However, Siena have 22 points, as many as second-from-bottom Atalanta, and are just two points behind Livorno. Furthermore, they have not lost a match since their narrow 2-1 defeat to Sampdoria on February 7. In their five matches since, Siena have drawn thrice and won twice.

Mid-Table Comfort

Bologna's fairytale continued last weekend as they held high-flying Sampdoria to a 1-1 draw at home in Serie A. That meant that the Felsinei are now 15th in the league standings with 35 points from 28 matches.

Bologna's restoration of form has been nothing short of a fairytale as once doomed for relegation, the Felsinei have rescued themselves marvelously and are now safe from worries of final day relegation dogfight. In fact, Bologna are unbeaten in their last three league fixtures, having defeated Genoa and Napoli in two of those matches.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Massimo Maccarone (Siena)

The former Middlesbrough striker has been one of the few good things that have happened to Siena this season. Maccarone has been among the goals, some of them world class, and he will again be spearheading the Tuscan side's attackline against Bologna. He has 11 goals and three assists in 27 Serie A matches and the 30-year-old will be looking to add to his tally on Sunday afternoon.

Martins Adailton (Bologna)

The 33-year-old scored a sensational hat-trick against Genoa that took his tally to eight goals in the league this season and was on target against Napoli too. Adailton has been in great form in recent times and will be a menace for the Siena backline.

PREDICTION

This could be a high scoring match and with both sides in form it is a very difficult call to make. In all probabilities, it will end in a high scoring draw.

Siena 2-2 Bologna
