Serie A Preview: Roma - Udinese
Claudio Ranieri's side will be hoping to returning to winning ways.....
By Mondal Subhankar
Stadio Olimpico, Rome.
Scudetto Hopes Still Alive
Roma might be third in Serie A at the moment but they still have a good chance of challenging for the Scudetto. The Giallorossi have 53 points from 28 matches and are six points off the pace.
On other occasions, a six-point gap would have appeared quite a big distance to close but with leaders Inter stuttering in Serie A and struggling for both goals and points, Roma must believe that there is still enough time to catch up. However, the former Italian champions have to win games against oppositions like Livorno, with whom they drew 3-3 last weekend.
Roma have won 11 times at home in the league and will be confident of making that 12 wins out of 15 matches at the Stadio Olimpico when they host Udinese on Saturday night.
Pulling Themselves Out
Udinese might still have to look over their shoulders for fears of relegation but the Udine-based side indeed have looked very good in recent times. Last week Antonio Di Natale and Antonio Floro Flores tore Palermo apart as the Bianconeri won 3-2 at home and allowed themselves to stretch the gap between them and the dropzone to seven points.
Pasquale Marino's appointment as the Udinese coach is bearing fruits and the Bianconeri will travel to Rome on Saturday night with confidence and swagger. The win over Palermo must have rejuvenated them and reinstalled their self-conviction.

The giant Italian international striker is back doing what he does best: score goals. Toni scored against Livorno last weekend and will be eager to add to his tally when he takes to the pitch against Udinese on Saturday evening.
Antonio Floro Flores (Udinese) The 26-year-old scored twice against Palermo last weekend and reached the nine-goal mark in Serie A. Floro Flores hasn't been in very good form in the Italian top flight this campaign but he seems to have returned to a goalscoring form and will be a key dangerman for Roma on Saturday evening. PREDICTION Udinese have started to climb up the table and have also been scoring goals of late. The Bianconeri do have quality in their side but Roma are strong at home. The hosts have a few key suspensions but they should be able to nick maximum points. Roma 2-0 Udinese Become a fan of Goal.com International on Facebook!
