Stadio Renzo Barbera, Palermo.

Champions League Dreams

Palermo stuttered last week as they went down 3-2 to struggling Udinese in Udine but the Sicilians are still in fourth position in Serie A. At the moment Delio Rossi's side have 46 points from 28 matches.

The Aquile have looked sensational under Rossi and before their loss to the Bianconeri, they had won three league games in a row. Moreover, Palermo have a great record at home as they have won ten of the 14 games at the Renzo Barbera and have lost none so far.

Defeating champions Inter at home is not going to be easy but with Jose Mourinho's side are currently struggling for points and for goals in the Italian top flight. With Palermo scoring goals at will, the home side will be confident of consolidating their place in the top four.

Struggling In The League

Inter might have reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the first time in four years when on Wednesday they defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the second leg at Stamford Bridge in the Round of 16 to go through 3-1 on aggregate, but the Italian champions are struggling in Serie A at the moment.

Although the Nerazzurri are at the top of he table with 59 points from 28 matches, they are just a solitary point ahead of second-placed Milan. Last week Jose Mourinho's side were hacked down 3-1 by Catania in Sicily.

However, the win against Chelsea in midweek must have reinstalled confidence in what is still the strongest side in Serie A and it will be interesting to see how the Italian champions react on Saturday.

Probable Lineup (4-3-1-2): Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Santon; Zanetti, Cambiasso, Stankovic; Sneijder; Eto'o, Milito

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Fabrizio Miccoli (Palermo)

The Italian striker scored against Lazio, was on target against Juventus, netted the winner against Livorno and found the Udinese net last weekend. Miccoli has mustered 11 goals and five assists in 26 league matches so far. Miccoli is the in-form striker in the Italian top flight at the moment and the Inter defenders have to take special care of him.

Samuel Eto'o (Inter)

Against Chelsea in the Champions League in midweek Samuel Eto'o showed his class as he scored the winner at Stamford Bridge. The Cameroonian might not have been in galactic form for Inter this campaign but he does remain one of the top three strikers in the world. Eto'o is a striker for the big occasions and he will be eager to perform against Palermo on Saturday evening.

PREDICTION

It promises to be an interesting match as both sides are desperate for a win for different reasons. Inter have been short of goals in Serie A in the last three or so weeks but Palermo have been conceding more than they would have liked of late. In the end this game could end in a scored draw but Jose Mourinho's side should just nick it.

Palermo 1-2 Inter
