Lazio's abysmal season shows no sign of improvement as the Aquile still remain near the relegation zone. The Rome-based side might be 15th in the table with 22 points from as many matches but they are just a couple of points above the dropzone.

Last weekend Lazio were slightly impressive in terms of results as they held Juventus to a 1-1 draw in Turin. This was one of the few encouraging results Lazio have earned for themselves in 2010 which they had started in astonishing fashion by defeating Livorno 4-1.

Lazio's home form isn't very impressive, though, as they have won just three of the 11 Serie A fixtures played at the Olimpico so far this campaign.

Hope Remains But Only Just

Catania might be third from bottom in the Serie A standings at the moment with just 20 points from 22 matches but they have shown a sign or two of improving and surviving the drop to Serie B.

The Sicilians were held to a 1-1 draw by Udinese last weekend and prior to that had defeated Parma 3-0. However, the draw with Udinese must have been disapponinting for them, although Catania know that they have another chance to redeem themselves as they take on struggling Lazio this Sunday afternoon.

TEAM NEWS

Lazio

Foggia, Matuzalem, Brocchi, Bizzarri, Del Nero, Golasa, Dabo, Lichtsteiner, Andre Dias and Meghni all have been ruled out of the Sunday afternoon fixture while Firmani and Baronio are struggling with injuries.

Probable Lineup (4-3-1-2): Muslera, Diakite, Biava, Radu, Kolarov; Firmani, Baronio, Hitzlsperger; Mauri; Floccari, Zarate

Catania

Marchese, Sciacca, Ledesma, Plasmati and Martinez are unavailable for the trip to Rome while Delvecchio, Andujar, Mascara, Alvarez, Biagianti, Silvestri and Llama are doubtful.

Probable Lineup (4-1-4-1): Andujar, Alvarez, Silvestre, Spolli, Capuano; Carboni; Mascara, Izco, Biagianti, Llama; Maxi Lopez

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Sergio Floccari (Lazio)

Sergio Floccari had been in excellent form for Lazio since joining them from Genoa in early January as he scored thrice in three league fixtures, but then he got injured. However, Floccari is likely to start against Catania and he would be the main man to watch out for.

Marco Biagianti (Catania)

Biagianti scored against Udinese last weekend to salvage a point for the Sicilians and he must have been boosted by that. He would be looking to add to his tally of two league goals this season on Sunday.

PREDICTION

It would be a scrappy match and there wouldn't be too many goals. A lame draw looks likely.

Lazio 1-1 Catania
