Defender Alvaro Arbeloa went the other way, leaving the Bernabéu in order to move to Anfield. Having seen both sides of the coin and gotten to know the England midfielder, Arbeloa insists that the midfield powerhouse will end his career on Merseyside.
Speaking to homeland paper AS, Arbeloa said: "A while ago there was some talk of Madrid wanting Gerrard, but they can forget that.
"He will never move from here in his life."
Interestingly, it was AS who started linking Gerrard with Madrid as long ago as early 2005.
