The Portugal international disclosed that media scrutiny and supporter pressure is easier to deal with in London when compared with life at Camp Nou.
Deco spent four years at Barcelona, winning a second Champions League title in 2006 to go along with the medal he won with Porto.
However, last season spelled the end of the Brazil-born midfielder's time in Catalonia as he struggled for both form and fitness.
The 31-year-old fell out of favour with the club and moved onto Stamford Bridge after Euro 2008.
He concedes that life is treating him better in England, and he has no regrets about the move.
He told the press: "It is easier here than in Barcelona to concentrate on football, because we train away from the city and we are not involved with the press nor the fans.
"In Barcelona, we had a lot more pressure because every day we had two newspapers talking about the club and the players. The press was always there, at each training session."
