Roma defeated Bologna 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico, courtesy of a late Mirko Vucinic brace and the Giallorossi will now face either Inter or Genoa in the next round.
“I am very happy at this win, we had a good performance and we are really keen on this tournament, as we are chasing a silver star,” Daniele De Rossi stated after the encounter.
The Maggica have lifted the Italian Cup on nine occasions, just like Juventus, and they will be allowed to wear a silver start on their shirt, should they bag the silverware for the tenth time.
The 25-year-old played his 250th game for the Eternal City outfit last evening and he cannot hide his satisfaction at the major achievement.
“Playing for Roma is a non-stop dream,” he enthused, “I just realized this morning that I had reach such an important tally.”
Luciano Spalletti’s men qualified for the knockouts of the Champions League in first place and the draw for the next round will take place tomorrow.
“For two years now, we have been paired with tough sides, but I maintain that they are all the same,” he concluded.
