Roma downed Fiorentina 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico yesterday afternoon, courtesy of a Francesco Totti strike that saw the Giallorossi continue their superb run of results.
Roma have won their last three Serie A games on the trot and also moved into the top spot in their Champions League qualifying group by easing past Romanian side CFR Cluj last week.
“We claimed an important victory on Wednesday and remained focused to get a positive result against Fiorentina, and this made us very happy,” Mirko Vucinic told Roma Channel.
“I was exhausted at the end of the match, but it’s fine this way. We all have our own responsibilities in the side, and I’m happy to make sacrifices for my teammates, if this helps us win games.
“We did well to stay calm during our crisis and keep playing in a relaxed manner, and now the real Roma are coming back.”
The Lupi are still in 14th place with 17 points to their name, but have a game in hand to play against Sampdoria that could see them move within four points of Napoli, who currently sit in the all-important fourth spot.
